Radioactive SSFL

Radioactive work in “Area IV” at the Santa Susana Field Lab (formerly known as Rocketdyne) included 10 nuclear reactors (4 reactors had accidents including the Sodium Reactor Experiment (SRE) which may be the worst nuclear meltdown in American history), a plutonium fuel facility, a uranium carbide fuel fabrication facility, a hot lab, and radioactive waste facilities. Area IV experienced radioactive fires, spills, leaks, and meltdowns.
