Dear [Title] [Name],
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the Los Angeles City Council both passed motions to pursue legal action if the cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab was weakened from the original agreements.
The Boeing Company plans to begin cleanup of its portion of the site and claims it will meet a “Residential with Garden” standard. However, independent scientific analyses show that Boeing’s current plan would leave up to 95% of its toxic soil contamination in place.
To date, neither the City nor the County has filed suit, and the window to act is quickly closing.
Unless all man-made contamination is removed at the source, the site will continue to pose daily risks to surrounding communities, wildlife, and regional air and water resources.
I respectfully ask that you take a frontline leadership role and pursue legal action. [Optional: why it matters to you]
Sincerely,
