Boeing’s Study | dtsc Lies during fire | DTSC Lies AFTER fire | TOXIC WATER AFTER FIRE
Boeing's Study:
Boeing redid the Woolsey Fire study…collecting samples nine months after the fire. We collected our samples within a month. Our study was peer-reviewed by independent scientists. Boeing’s scientists were paid by Boeing and their findings were NOT peer-reviewed. See our study here. Boeing’s study is another lie as they try to hide the fact that they’re exposing us to radiation and toxic chemicals from the site. We need a complete cleanup in order to stop the risk of exposure.
DTSC lied during the Woolsey Fire:
Only nine hours after the Woolsey Fire began, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) was already denying the risks of contamination from the Santa Susana Field Lab (SSFL) reaching our community.
Please notice that every day they changed their messaging as a reaction to our social media posts confronting their errors. For example, we called the Ventura County and LA County hazmat units and learned the DTSC had not contacted anyone in their offices. We shared this on social media. The next community announcement no longer listed the hazmat teams as consultants.
DTSC lied after the Woolsey Fire:
The DTSC’s cover image showcases the main flaw in their final study of the Woolsey Fire… they did the air quality sampling after the fire was done.
Read a review of the DTSC’s report by Committee to Bridge the Gap, Could the Woolsey Fire have been prevented and the article, A Failure of Governmental Candor: The Fire at the Contaminated Santa Susana Field Laboratory.
Boeing's Toxic Water after the woolsey fire:
The rains after the Woolsey Fire washed radioactive and chemical contamination from the SSFL into rain runoff. Boeing, who owns the majority of the SSFL, was cited 57 times by the Los Angeles Waterboard for releasing contamination above the legal limits into the Los Angeles River.
The nuclear watchdog organization, Committee to Bridge the Gap reviewed the water runoff results. Contaminants cited for polluting the water included arsenic, cyanide, lead, dioxins and gross alpha (radioactive) particles.
